A simple little viral YouTube video set off a chain of reaction on the AMp's Peace Prize Thursday. In the studio were Dr. Coya Paz, April Scissors and your regular host, Molly Adams. We spent some time breaking down what was going on in the video and why we all found it so funny. Coya's a theater professor so she has some interesting thoughts on "performing" whiteness and April had personal anecdotes that aligned with the satire of the video. But as we started wondering why some white people were finding the video offensive, the show took a turn for the serious. Take listen if you want to learn about "invisible whiteness," who can say what when talking about racism, desires for oppression, and the constant refrain in the title of the post.
