The Rundown
There's a play being staged this week in Chicago's Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza-- they're staging it at 12:30, and I'll be playing a preview right after noon. If you're working downtown and get up to go see the play, I'll still be waiting when you get back. (But they'll be there all week, so see what the weather is like.)
The play takes us back to some Memorial Day interviews on the same site, and we explore the idea of memorials-- some mournful, some political, some controversial, some joyful. We'll talk with Cesario Moreno, curator of the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago about the Day of the Dead celebrations, and we'll feature conversations and stories from journalist Salim Muwakkil, bike activist Alex Wilson, and hairdresser Thor Nygren.
