The Rundown
your stories, your issues, plus great music for good measure....We talk with Brian Keigher, one of the organizers of Chicago's World Music Festival, kicking off today, rocking the whole weekend. Find the schedule here. Jennifer Kim calls in to let us know what's up with today's Peace Rally in Daley Plaza, which commemorates International Peace Day.
Kwana Shaw and Melissa James of join us in the studio. After leaving Melissa's home in Gary, IN, Kwana and her son Josiah were attacked in a high-profile car-jacking. Kwana believes that a trauma center in Gary could have helped save her son's life. Had there been a trauma center in Gary, surgeons could have worked on her son in the most critical hour. Without one, he needed to be airlifted to another hospital in Illinois, and he sadly didn't make it. As of yet, no one has been charged with the carjacking. There's a $ 5,000 reward for helping find the attacker. If you know something, call the Gary, IN police department.
