The Rundown
Forbes Magazine just published their annual list of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World, which includes Chancellor Angela Merkle of Germany and FDIC head Sheila Blair. Hillary Clinton may not have won the Democratic nomination, but she’s certainly gone further than any other female candidate for the Oval Office. Given this and other indications of the growing power and influence of women in the U.S., can you still argue that the glass ceiling exists?
We'll start of the debate with our own General Manager, Wendy Turner. Chicago Business called Turner a "Woman to Watch" thanks to her management and fund-raising prowess. She says her own experience in the corporate world has not included the glass ceiling.
Then we'll hear a countering opinion from Tedra Osell, feminist blogger extraordinaire behind Bitch Ph.D. Osell is live at the DNC in Denver, and she'll share her impressions of the Clinton speech along with her take on the glass ceiling.
Stay tuned after that for more updates from the convention floor, more wacky headlines, and more of your pieces!
