Gary’s own, Freddie Gibbs. Back from SXSW, Gibbs is spending the weekend in his hometown, Gary, Indiana, shooting a video. We plan to have a volunteer track him as he records around the Steel City.

Gibbs is scheduled to headline at Pitchfork later this year. He was just named to XXL's Freshman 10 for 2010.

He has a straight up gansta rap style that often characterizes hip hop from Gary. He has a loyal local following, as well as critics who believe his rhymes glorify the problems of Gary, Indiana.
