I HATE TO SAY BUT I DONT THINK PROTEST MAKES A REAL HEAVY IMPACT ON SOCIETY LIKE IT USED TO.

PEOPLE SHOULD STICK TO A BOYCOTTS AND HURT THE PROFITS.

THERE ARE NO TRUE LEADERS IN THIS COUNTRY

THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ALLOW IT.

SOCIALISM IS TODAY'S NEW "COMMUNISM" TO THE GOVERNMENT

Shannon and I were having this discussion yesterday on Vocalo.org and we were both stumped for ideas as to any charismatic leaders we might think are changing our world at the moment. There aren't very many stirring individuals at the moment. Protests usually require an igniting fire that would direct the energy of the crowd towards a goal- I see the crowds I just don't see the igniting fire nor the movement towards one, productive goal.

I disagree with the idea that protests don't have an impact. The outcome of Jena6 may not be everything that we would want it to be, but at the very least, it called attention to an issue that may have been a more covered up story. I also disagree with the idea that we lack true leaders. Maybe we lack true political leaders, but that's politics for you. I'm curious about your definition of a leader.
