Aguilar wrote an essay on his thoughts about the day he spent at Fiesta Boricua over Labor Day weekend. I also attended the festival and was intrigued by his statement, "soul-less gentrifiers" so I contacted him to find out more. As a resident of the area and having talked to others about the gentrification issue in the area, I was quite curious to hear more viewpoints of the displaced citizens of Humboldt Park, Aguilar being one of them.  I have a feeling this won't be the last we hear about the issue of gentrification.  What DO YOU have to say about it?  I'd like to keep this conversation going here at Vocalo.  Who knows what can be discovered and what insights can be gained if we can establish a healthy dialogue in an area where so many opinions linger?
