We hear from girls, moms, and employees about what the madness over these dolls is all about, and what they consider to be the benefits of this special experience in a girl's life. What do you have to say about this?
This is one of multiple contributions made to :Vocalo.org by the CITY2000 Project, which was conducted to document the people and events in Chicago in that year for posterity ... seriously! It's intended to be an archive for people to look back on the city as it was in 2000. Andrea DeFotis Edwards was the primary producer on this project, and the archives are currently filed at the Daley Library of UIC. Our thanks also go to Allison Seagram, who managed the archive and facilitated our access to the recordings.
Also, view the first addition (below) to listen to a local artist's (Jenna Friedman) take on the American Girls phenomenon. Do tell us what you think!
