Hello everyone,
I know it's been a while since I've posted. We'll I'm back. I have questions to ask... Does money really Matter when it comes to choosing your life long partner? Is it possible for a woman to Love and Respect a man that makes less than her? Should the person who is financially stable lead the relationship, Meaning make all the finance decisions? Does money determine How much you Love a person?
In my Opinion...I think that Love is not based on how much a person makes . Love is a sense of underlying oneness. It is when two come together and exchange affection unconditionally. I'm not saying that money doesn't help a relationship grow because it does. But I am saying that Love should not be soley based on HOw much the other makes. I think that when two people meet and decide to commit, The Love they share should be clearly based on all that is priceless. Like, the occasional hugs, the gentle touches, the frequent kisses, the unexpected gifts, you know the mushy stuff.

Thanks for posting. We'd like to think money shouldn't matter in relationships, at least in choosing relationships. But money (or lack thereof) can be a volatile factor in relationships. And as you point out, money can be used as a statement of status between two people.
I know married couples who keep their money completely seperate, and share expenses like roommates - in order to avoid conflict over money.
Poor has it right. If you don't let money represent status in a relationship, it shouldn't matter who earns it, who manages it, or who spends it.
Again, welcome back! Glad you're here!

If my wife had stayed with me for my money we would have broken up after the first of many "Dutch" dates! I have never made more money than my wife (except while she was out of work and going to school) and now the school is over she is making more than twice what I make. To reverse things, I would also still be with my wife if she where waitressing. All you need is love. Love. Love is all you need.
Marrying for money never leads to happiness. At least I dont think it does.
