Simeon Viltz, a member of the local hip-hop group The Primeridian and a teacher with the Digital Youth Network, asks DYN student Jasmine Jackson about the work she's proudest of from this summer. She especially likes a song she and some friends made called "Ghetto Shuffle."
... She also talks about how the Digital Youth program taught her to listen more critically to what's on the radio. (T-Pain, are you listening?)
Students in the Digital Youth Network's programs-- who attend public schools on Chicago's Mid-South Side-- learn to create electronic media using programs like ProTools and GarageBand. Jasmine is part of the music pod; other programs include publishing, gaming, video and podcasting.
