What do you think about smokers and obese people paying higher insurance premiums?
I think Marlboro and McDonalds should pay for it.
well, i don't know if those corporations should be paying for it because its the people who have decided to make those decisions. i think we need to start promoting more prevention here in the states. its the fault of the culture and the corporations simply jump on the weakness of the people. we need to support programs that would prevent such health issues in the first place
I think smokers should, but I'm not sure about obesity, or at least not in all cases. Some drugs used to treat schizophrenia, for example, cause obesity as a side effect, and I don't think people suffering from schizophrenia need one more burden. How can we determine when someone's health problem is a result of their willingly making self-indulgent choices versus when it's a symptom of health problems they're already struggling separately?
