Did you guys know for a long time there was an issue with black men and facial hair? They used to say you can't trust a [black] man with facial hair. Black men who applied for jobs with beards were often turned down on that basis. In the business world, clean shaven/no facial hair was the mode and was used in a normative way--no hair=good and trustworthy facial hair=bad and otherwise not employable.
