one of the only reasons an athiest would question another persons quaint superstitions is simply this;
in the end, there can only be one reality and one truth about things such as the afterlife, and the creation of the universe.
It is painfull and tragic to let another person delude themselves with fairy tales when you absolutely know better.
Questioning anothers religion is not cruel, it's down right humane. And nessasary for the advancement of our species.
