Developers in the West Loop (of Chicago) have hit a snag in turning Chocolate into Celluloid:
plans for a Sundance (as in Channel and film fest) Theatre at site of old Fannie Mae factory. The snag, according to Micah Maidenberg, Editor of the Chicago Journal (who joined us today by phone), is a zoning issue (because the film house would be in the lowel level of a 21 tower residential tower, and the proposed height is seen as possibly being too high).
Do you think that Sundance opening a film house would be good enough for Chicago to warrant yet another residential high rise?
