My music started at age two. I would play my sister's piano lessons. I took violin lessons in the third grade. In the fifth grade I took up the alto sax. I work for the Chicago Board of Education as a music teacher and band director. Right now I'm teaching K - 6 at the Woodlawn Community School. My master's degree is in music education. I'm working on my PhD. in music. My music has taken me to Switzerland, France, England, New York, Chicago, Kansas City, New Orleans, and many other places. I have played with Jimmy Ellis, Ken Cheney, Howlin' Wolf, Roland Brown, and the Generations Big Band. I also have my own bands, the Sun Ensemble and the Sons of Sun Blues band.
