My name is Walter Grandberry. I am a Chicago native, and I went to public elementary and high schools in the city. After receiving a B.S. in International Relations from the U.S. Military Academy in 1986, I was commissioned as an Army officer. During my five years in the service, I was assigned to the U.S. Army Infantry Center, and was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. I was honorably discharged in September of 1991. In the fall of 1991, I embarked on my present career as a Sales Specialist for a global pharmaceutical company, while remaining active in my community. I blog at Matters of Manner and Type and I'm  currently working on a manuscript, also entitled Matters of Manner and Type, a study of current events from the perspective of an African American conservative.
