1. Tofu & Potato Sandwich from Nhu Lan Bakery on Lawrence Avenue.

2. Metropolis Coffee's "Spice Island" roast - so rich and delicious.

3. The Velvet Lounge - a Chicago gem presenting the city's most adventurous music.

4. Aguas Frescas - there isn't much more refreshing on a hot summer day than a fresh Papaya, Cantaloupe or Watermelon drink.

5. Aloo Palak (spicy Spinach & Potatoes) from Shan Foods on Sheridan Avenue.

6. Berger Park in the Rogers Park neighborhood. Where else in Chicago can you see the entire world on one playground?

7. Soft, ripe creamy avocados. Anyone know where to get some?

8. People's Music School of Uptown. A free music education with students of every race and age imaginable? Enough said.

9. Crunchy Peanut Butter & Pico de Gallo on bread. Don't knock it until you try it.

10. Erykah Badu. I know its been 37 years since she's dropped a record, but I still have to hear "Mama's Gun" at least once or twice a week.
