Bob is the Deputy Regional Health Administrator for the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services (HHS) Region V. Prior to joining HHS Bob served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, where he enjoyed a variety of assignments including tours in the Navy’s Pacific Fleet Film Unit, Armed Forces Radio Stations in Antarctica, Italy, Cuba and El Jabal, Saudi Arabia. Bob has been an avid runner for over 37 years, participating in numerous marathons and few ultra marathons as well. Currently, he is an active member of the Alpine Runners of Lake Zurich, IL. His unique hobby of a weekly commute to work by running the 20 mile distance along Chicago’s famous Northshore has been local media and Runner’s World Magazine. "When I run I think about being blessed with two arms, two legs and the ability to do this," Herskovitz said. "Some of my brothers and sisters in the armed forces come back from war without those blessings. I think of them almost every time I run."

So much to say, so little space...I'm always on the move, don't remember the last time I got to watch prime time TV. I work full time as a drug counselor, getting my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, and work at my internship site in the evenings. My social life is non-existant, but I am definitely never bored.

I dare to dream...dream to love and love to dare....so...? I like to sleep in a semi-cold room with lots of blankets so i can feel the weight...i sleep with Luke (but you have to say it like the french), my blue body pillow. I sometimes have bon fires...just me and my dogs on a wicker rug in the grass...we'll wait for hours to see just one shooting star...then when the fire turns to coals and my dogs have nudged me out of a nap we'll head up for bed. My dog, Oso, sleeps Under my bed every night. I have an AMAZING Family...i must have been adopted...;) My Alpaca, Livingston, and i have really bonded this summer...That was until Bella Stole my heart away... I wait... I Drive a 97' Jeep Wrangler 4.0 Sport 5speed 6cyl...i wouldn't trade it in for anything...and i pity those who can't drive a stick... I always drive with a dream catcher on my rear view mirror. I like napping in the grass I love being the first one to use a new bar of soap I hate armpits I love gladiolas I wish i had a candle that smelled like fresh cut wood I need to be challenged
