Daily Thread for 1/28: Who's left you hanging? »
For folks who use public transportation in Chicago, that list is going to get a little longer in about a week: The Chicago Transit Authority is cutting service on 119 bus lines, and most train lines Feb. 7.
About a hundred buses will run "less frequently"-- and we're talking A LOT less.
For instance, wait time for the 65 Grand bus during rush hour (rush hour!) goes up to 20 minutes. (And yes, that's my bus.) Way to leave us hanging, CTA!
Who has left YOU hanging? Showed up late, blew you off, just "forgot" about something you needed? And what happened next?
Tell us the story. 888-635-1112
Here, we'll get the conversation started:
Here's one about a holiday letdown, collected by hotsilvadolla1@netscape.net
And, from Superfrye, three more:
Paige got stood up for a date:
So did Kevin:
And this guy's wife left him alone on the beach:
And, on Thursday's broadcast:
Tom will talk to a CTA bus driver at 8:30 a.m.
And at 1 p.m., Molly will ask Miss Manners herself: So, when a friend really leaves you hanging, what's the "right" way to deal with it?
Plus stories from local rapper Chaos the Ghost (9 a.m.), former Luther Vandross backup singer Ava Cherry (5 p.m.), and our Sports Correspondents, BLACKOUT, at 6 p.m.
One word for the CTA »
This come from our sister blog at WBEZ. Hard Working Reporter Adrian Hill came across a New York City transit card printed with one word - optimism. She suggests the CTA could borrow the gentle nudge for its cards.
Here at Vocalo, we see her nudge and raise it to a web challenge. What single word do you think the CTA should print on its cards and why. Blog it to our hotline at (888) 635-1112. Make sure you mention the challenge in your response.
And people, I know it's the CTA but Velma the Vocalo Baby Bunny will be listening. Please act accordingly. . . .

Next Olympic Sport? Stair climbing by Spudart
Shannon recently asked on Vocalo's shoutbox, "If you invented an Olympic sport from one of your daily activities what would it be?" My response: CTA stair races. Both up and down the stairs. I will defeat ANYONE. BRING IT ON.
