In a skybox at the Grammys... »
Krissy was in a skybox at the Grammys. She said everyone talks through the whole thing and no one pays attention to what is happening on stage. And if a star goes to the bathroom, a models jumps in to sit in their seat until they get back.
Kind of like at work, when you get up to go to the bathroom, a model jumps up to sit in your seat....
You know it's true. And if it's not in the garage, it's in the workshop or the den. This is the poster that launched a career. Most people forget that Farrah was only on Charlie's Angels for the TV-movie and the first season. Beyond that, this image would be the thing she is most famous for. By some estimates the poster has sold over 12 million copies, making it the most famous pinup OF ALL TIME.
Sadly, Farrah left this mortal coil Thursday morning. Even sadder still, with Michael Jackson passing after her, she lost all chance of extended coverage of her life and career.
The Takeaway? Die as late in the news cycle as possible, preferably on a Thursday or Friday.
Ed McMahon passed away this past Tuesday, leaving a long legacy in the entretainment industry. He's best known as Johnny's sidekick on the Tonight Show, but do you remember him on Star Search? It was just a little show that "discovered" modern day superstars like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Aaliyah, Alanis Morrisette, Rosie O’Donnell, Norm MacDonald, Drew Carey, Kevin James and Christina Aguilera. (In a supreme stroke of irony, almost none of these folks actually won in the early 90s when they were on the show).
But it gets even deeper than that - He was a Marine, worked all manor of Odd Jobs and had to suffer a lifetime of having his last name mispronounced. Check this list of five things that we found at the Women's Day website (who knew he was such a sex symbol with the ladies magazine set?).
1. Before the age of 4, funny-man McMahon relocated 40 times because of his father's job. During his adolescent years, he attended 15 different high schools. Constantly on-the-go with little time to develop social skills, McMahon claimed he was painfully shy for most of his childhood.
2. Ed always knew he had a voice destined to be heard by the masses—and he started his training early. In 1938, at age15, he became a bingo caller, but that wasn’t his only odd job over the years. To put himself through college, the Hollywood heavyweight worked as a pitchman for vegetable slicers on the boardwalk of Atlantic City and hawked pots and pans as a door-to-door salesman.Prior to that, he worked as a carnival barker for three years in Mexico, Maine.
