What creates more lasting political engagement... a push for positive change or a scandal? Why?
it's great to have both - they both serve a purpose and expose who you really want directing gov - for good or evil.
the obama movement was unusual. good usally begets silence. i think public outcry makes people get in a lather. maybe that's because i'm from chicago.

a scandal allows a starting point and simplifies the argument to some extent. It gives you two defined sides that may represent the two different views. Its easier to follow in your brain when you have people to point fingers at
everyone is always pushing for positive change. its evolution.
its also not entertaining
sacndal pushes for political engagement b/c america is a negatively based nation...in my opinion. i have no faith in humanity, in general, and believe if it's negative media it pays off! more people want to talk about the governor than obama, knaw mean?
