Don't forget the Mumbo Sauce!

Run time: 3:59

I talked to Allison Collins, Co-Owner of Select Brands LLC, and daughter of Argia B. Collins (pictured above) about Mumbo Sauce, arguably the oldest BBQ sauce in Chicago. A creation of her father, Mumbo Sauce sprung savory out the South Side of Chicago in the mid-1950's. This is the first installment of a series about the sauce, so stay tuned!

Hilary Drinks Beer too

from www.nwi.com:

CROWN POINT | U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton spent Saturday night doing what a lot of the locals do at Bronko's, having a shot, a beer and some pizza with friends.Nick Tarailo, owner of Bronko's at 1244 N. Main St., said he got word the Democratic presidential candidate might be coming Friday night, with confirmation coming late Saturday morning."Johnny Depp missed us, but Hillary Clinton didn't," Tarailo said.Clinton was greeted at the front door with a kiss, a hug and a handshake from Tarailo at 6:45 p.m. before making the rounds at tables in the dining room."See? That's going to be our next president," Nancy Van Volkenburg, of Crown Point, told her 14-month-old grandson, Jackson Van Volkenburg, as she held him high over media cameras to see Clinton.Tarailo said he knows that many of the customers Saturday night came out "just to rub elbows with a celebrity," but he was pleased to see most of the seats were filled with his regulars, including Eve Black, of Leroy.Black is one of the Bronko's Buddies, a group of friends who had all been diagnosed with cancer who come to the eatery with their spouses regularly for pizza, drinks and support.Black said she plans to vote for Clinton."I feel our country needs change and that she can give our country the change it needs," Black said. "Our motherly instincts can do the job that needs to be done."Black raised her glass with Clinton sitting just a few feet away eating pizza with Crown Point Mayor David Uran and offered a toast to the crowd."To the next president of the United States," she said to cheers.
