The Morning AMp's hosts Molly Adams and Brian Babylon spoke to Council of Feminist Thought members Veronica Arreola and Kimbriel Kelly about the gender disparity in higher education. A new study by Cornell professors Wendy M. Williams and Stephen J. Ceci shows that, at the current rate, it will take nearly 100 years before half of all science and engineering professors are female. Critics of the study claim that a woman's biological clock is to blame for the gender gap in academia. Veronia and Kimbriel argue, however, that gender inequity among professors is a structural and social issue -- not a biological one.
