Usama Alshaibi is an Iraqi-American filmmaker, photographer, and artist. Working with local documentary powerhouse, Kartemquin films, Usama is completing a movie on what it means to be Arab-American in the United States - succinctly titled: American Arab. Defying the post 9/11 depiction of Arab-Americans as not only a homogeneous, but threatening group, Usama illustrates the diversity of these communities.
