Right away I thought, "damn, who now?" So I've made a post about who I think might make a run that I'm going to try and keep updated until we have a mayor. 

Here's my off the top list as well as other potential candidates I've read online.

  • Tony Preckwinkle - Dem nominee and shoe in for Cook County Board President
  • Miguel Del Valle - Cook County Clerk
  • Luis Guttierrez - 4th district Congressman since 1993
  • Manny Flores - Chairman of Illinois Commerce Comission, former 1st ward Alderman
  • Jesse Jackson - you know him
  • Jesse Jackson Jr. - 2nd district Congressman since 1995
  • Bobby Rush - 1st district Congressman since 1993
  • Toni Berrios - [threw in a Latina] 39th district IL-House of Representatives
  • Rahm Emanuel - White House Chief of Staff, former 5th district Congressman
  • Forrest Claypool - Cook County Commissioner former Daley Chief of Staff
  • Tony Peraica - Cook County Commissioner 
  • Dorothy Brown - Cook County Circuit Court Clerk
  • Mike Quigley - 5th District Congressman
  • Emil Jones - recently retired President of the Illinois Senate
  • Tamie Duckworth - Assistant Secretary Dept. of Veteran Affairs (Nat'l Position)
  • David Hoffman - Inspector General
  • Tom Dart - Cook County sheriff
  • James Houlihan - Cook County assessor
  • James Meeks - 15th District IL-State Senator 
  • Bob Fioretti - 2nd Ward alderman (will decide in by Sept. 18th)
  • Sandi Jackson - 7th Ward alderman
  • Scott Waguespack - 32nd Ward alderman
  • Tom Allen - 38th Ward alderman
  • Brendan Reilly - 42nd Ward alderman
  • Ricky Munoz - 32nd Ward alderman
  • Leslie Hariston - 5th Ward alderman

Chicago electorate is 40% Black, 38% White, 17% Latino, 5% Asian
